Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022 – Companies House prepares for implementation: UPDATE
A quick update on the implementation of the Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Bill 2022. The latest information is that it may receive Royal Assent in July 2023, although this date cannot be guaranteed.
If this timing is met, Companies House will start to implement their first changes (see here: https://www.kudocs.co.uk/economic-crime-transparency-and-enforcement-act-2022-companies-house-prepares-for-implementation/) perhaps as early as September 2023. That means that:
- Each company will be required to provide a registered email address to CH as part of their core information.
- Each company will be required to confirm that their registered address is an “appropriate address”.
- Each company will be required to confirm that they are carrying out a “lawful purpose” in their business activities.
- PO Box addresses will not be permitted as registered office addresses.
We are keeping a close eye on this and will implement any changes necessary to the Kudocs system to ensure a seamless transition for our customers.
